In the online game, World of Warcraft, the Druid class has three distinct paths that they can be used to reach level 80. But which one is better for leveling your Druid?

The Balance talent tree offers your Druid the chance to sling spells with the best of them but it can produce some down time if you do not manage your mana efficiently. The Restoration talent tree suffers from the same slow pace as other Healer classes, though the advent of the dungeon finder system has helped with this some.

Ultimately, the Feral talent tree, specifically your Cat form, offers enough abilities to help make sure your can tear through your opponents with little to no downtime. These are the several things you need to look at when are leveling your Druid in World of Warcraft.

Strategy

After you begin your life as a Druid, you will learn that playing through the first 20 levels of your Druid can be time consuming and slow. You will have two methods of taking down your opponents either through casting or in Bear form once you receive it at level 10.

The pace picks up the moment you reach level 20 and can shape shift into your Cat form. Now not only will you be able to stealth in and around enemies, you will be take away their health a lot quicker.

The ideal Feral talent build will end up a 0 / 51/ 0 / build by the team you reach level 60. These are a couple of the crucial talents to make the process easier.

The first can’t miss talent for your Druid is Savage Roar. This will increase the damage to your Claw and Maul by 20%. Another talent primed to help increase the DPS of your Druid is Predatory Strikes.

Don’t forget to select Feral Switness the moment it becomes available to you on the talent tree. This will increase your Druid’s running speed in Cat form, which means less downtime as you move from one opponent to the next.

The key to developing your Druid Feral build it to maximize your DPS while needing the least amount of time to recovery. To find examples of complete Feral Druid builds, visit WoW Popular web site and filtering out the Druid Feral builds.

Gear Selection

Though you will be changing gear on a consistent basis as you level your Druid, there are certain statistics you need to focus on to help make sure you are obtaining the optimal DPS. These are the statistics ranked from most important to least for your Feral Druid.

Agility – Strength – Expertise Rating – Crit Rating - Hit Rating = Haste Rating – Attack Power - Stamina

Don’t forget that you can boost up your equipment and weapons with enchantments. While this is not recommended on lower level gear that you may out grow, it is fine to place them on unique pieces.

It is also advisable to maintain a set of gear for healing. Though you are not spec to heal as you level, you will find a properly geared Druid can still provide decent healing to a well run five-man party. Make sure you keep an eye out for cloth pieces in addition to leather for your healing gear.

Weapon Selection

The first choice of weapons for your Feral Druid should either be a two-handed mace, polearm, or staff. Prior to entering Outlands, you will want to find one of these weapons with the following suffixes; of the Tiger, of Strength, or of the Bear.

Glyph Selection

As you proceed through the leveling process, there are a couple of glyphs that can be of use to your Druid. The first one is Glyph of Claw, which reduces the energy cost of your Claw attack. Since Claw will be your primary attack until you reach 50, this will give you an extra attack every fourth time. Eventually you will replace this one with the Glyph of Mangle.

The second Glyph you could use is Glyph of Rake, which will keep your opponents from fleeing. This can be quite useful when you have additional attackers.

Profession Selection

If you do not have a profession picked out for your Druid, you should consider selecting two Gathering careers. This way you can build up your finances while you move forward towards the cap level. A solid combination to achieve this would be Herbalism and Skinning.

World of Warcraft: Hunters Pet Guide

August 30th 2010 03:34

Since World of Warcraft started, Hunter’s Pets have gone under major changes, from what skills they learned to how you could tweak the performance of your hunter. Here is a cursory guide to the current pet system for your Hunter in World of Warcraft along with recommendations to selecting the best pet.

Currently Hunters have a choice to select a pet from three different distinct classes that are balanced to fit specific playing styles.

Cunning

Since the Hunter class has a variety of playing styles in World of Warcraft, it is sometimes hard to decide which pet to chose. If you find yourself in this boat, a pet from the Cunning group is the perfect choice.

The Cunning pet, which are made up of Bats, Birds of Prey, Chimaeras, Dragonhawks, Nether Rays, Ravagers, Serpents, Silithids, Spiders, and Spore Bats, have the most flexibility for your Hunter.

Their talent selections allow your Hunter utility and mobility, which is important in PvP fights. This also makes the Cunning pet very useful while soloing or small groups.

Just like with any Talent tree, there are certain ones needed to make sure your Cunning pet lives up to their potential. Boar’s Speed is an easy way to receive a continuous 30% speed increase for your pet. Feeding Frenzy will help increase the overall damage of your Cunning Pet and Wolverine Bite allows your Pet to place an attack that can not be blocked, dodged, or parried.

The final selection for your Cunning pet is Wild Hunt, which is a Pet buff where they will receive a 20% increase to Stamina and a 10% Attack Power increase.

Tenacity

If you are planning on your Hunter spending all of their time, then a Tenacity pet maybe the right one for you. Their extra health and variety of talents to stay alive and keep the focus of your target make this the ideal pet for solo Hunter.

When you make the decision to go with a Tenacity pet, you can choose from the following families; Bears, Boars, Crabs, Crocolisks, Gorillas, Rhinos, Scorpids, Turtles, Warp Stalkers, and Worms.

As for the important talents from the Tenacity tree, there are several you need to make sure your pet shines. Grace of Mantis is important to help reduce critical hits on your pet. This will allow your pet to absorb more of the damage and last longer in the battle.

Another important talent to have is Taunt, which can be very useful in saving you or someone in your party when a Crowd Control spell breaks or you get unexpected adds. You can skip on the talent, Silverback, because the one percent healing bonus on Growl does not make a real difference for your Tenacity pet.

Ferocity

One of the more popular pet selections for Hunters in World of Warcraft is the Ferocity pet. They main focus is damage and dishing it out in bunches while helping to increase yours. Ferocity pets make the perfect mate in Raids or when your Hunter ventures out for some PvP.

If you make the decision to venture out into Azeroth with a pet from the Ferocity group, you will need to select from the following families; Carrion Birds, Cats, Core Hounds, Devilsaurs, Hyenas, Moths, Raptors, Spirit Beasts, Tallstriders, Wasps, Wolves.

One of the more critical talents your Ferocity pet needs is Cobra Reflexes because it increases their overall DPS. Do not be mislead by the description that says the increase pet attack speed/reduction in damage will make it a wash.

Shark attack is a talent that allows your Ferocity pet to receive a damage boost, even more so if you are a Beast Mastery Hunter. When you max out at level 80, you can drop this talent and make sure to pick up Wild Hunt.

One of the most under utilized talents for the Ferocity pet is Dash. This talent will allow your pet to reach the intended target quicker, resulting in a slight increase in DPS.

In the end, remember that no matter what pet you choose for your Hunter, you should be able to find success if you pick the talents to help maximize their potential, along with yours.

Hybrid is a dreaded word in the World of Warcraft.

This is when a class can be considered to have several different group roles depending upon what talents the character has and the type of equipment he has. A hybrid usually takes up the role as a tank, healer, or damage dealer. Though this can be thought of a useful, it can be a curse. Players are expected to know how to play their class with regard to all three group roles. If you do not have the talents or gear, it does not matter. To play a hybrid, it takes a dedicated person who is willing to learn the finer aspects of their class and be open to change
