The newest release from the Halo franchise, Halo Reach, promises to offer gamers more vehicles choices that will keep them entertained and engrossed in the newest release. Here is a brief guide to the vehicle available to you in Halo Reach and what they can do for you.
Mongoose – The 2 person ATV is one of the vehicles frequently seen in the team multi-player maps and offers you quick ground transport. The Mongoose offers you speed to give you a quick getaway and allows the rear passenger the ability to fire a gun.
The one glaring problem with the Mongoose is the lack of any real defense from your opponent’s attack and does not offer stability when firing at your opponents.
Falcon – This flying vehicle allows you to carry up to three passengers in multi-player mode and offers the driver a stable but slow ride. As a result, you will find it difficult to avoid being targeted and can be brought down with ease by rocket launchers.
While it may not offer the best defense, you can bring a serious amount of offensive firepower. Whether you are in campaign mode where you can have two gunners or in multi-player, you will find that the Falcon can take out your enemies if given the chance.
Ghost – Just like in the previous versions of Halo, the Ghost vehicle offers up offensive support while giving the driver little to no protection from the enemy. As a result, these vehicles are often the first to go in campaigns.
These vehicles really shine when it comes to multi-player where you can use the plasma guns to help take out infantry or taking out opposing vehicles. Any reasonable driver can dodge your opponents’ weapons and as an added bonus, the Boost features increases your speed for a short period of time, even allowing you to run over your opponents.
Banshee – Another flying vehicle in Halo Reach, the Banshee excels with ground support and is ideal for those wanting to bring back the days of classic dogfights in the sky. This aircraft is able to maneuver in and out of tight spots while being a terror on fixed ground opponents.
The Banshee is armed with a pair of plasma guns that are perfect against the small targets, including infantry. You can equip it with a fuel rod that will enable it to bomb larger targets.
Scorpion Tank – If you come across this battle tank in Halo Reach, you will find that it has been modified over the previous versions by being able to offer up more damage but also being more vulnerable to damage.
The main weapon can take out your targets at long range while the second player can hop on the machine gun and dispose of your opponents in close quarters. This Halo vehicle is best suited to provide coverage for the small quicker ones like the Mongoose.
Revenant – One of the new vehicles for Halo Reach, this mid-size ground vehicle offers up decent maneuverability and projectile weapons. This two person vehicle allows both the driver and passenger the ability to fire or drive.
The Revenant is an ideal vehicle to be a flag runner, giving you and your partner the chance to get in quick and to bring some pain to your opponents. You will have decent defense to small arm fire but will take the brunt when targeted with explosives.
Warthog – Though it is an oldie from previous Halo games, it is still a goodie. The Warthog is important to your success in multi-player, where the ground vehicle gives you the same maneuvering ability of the Mongoose but a heavy duty weapon.
To make sure you get the most out of your Warthog, keep it on the move and avoid any type of glancing blows that can easily flip it along with its passengers.
Wraith – This Covenant battle tank comes load with armor and damage dealing weapons that will make your opponents quiver in fear. The main cannon may be easier to avoid than the Scorpions’ but will do more damage when it connects.
The mid-range plasma gun is perfect for taking out closer targets when they make the foolish attempt to move in close. Just like the Scorpion, the Wraith offers up a heavy damage dealer and allows the rest of its unit to clean up from the perimeter.
