The Paladin character class is one of the standard choices in any role-playing game, whether it is paper and pen or online. When Blizzard created Diablo 2, they wanted to make sure to add their own take on the Paladin class and make it unique. The achieved their goal.

The first thing you will notice about Paladins in Diablo 2 is that they can handle their own when going toe to toe with a variety of opponents. You have the ability to customize your character from the standard mace and shield to a bow wielding Paladin who can out damage just about everyone else in the game.

In order to have success with the Paladin class in Diablo 2, you will need to understand the three Talent trees that help give them their devastating powers.

Combat
If you wish to venture down this skill tree, your Paladin will learn the non-aura skills that help make them a force to reckon with by allowing your Paladin to focus on their melee skill.

There are several skills you can find here that will make your Paladin’s life easier. Zeal increases your physical damage, attack rating and speed at the price of locking your character in place until a certain number of attacks have been completed.

Vengeance is another highly sought after skill in this skill tree and draws a lot of attention. This talent increases the elemental damage and attack rating of your Paladin though it will come with a higher mana cost.

Blessed Hammer is sometimes referred to as the most overpowered skill in the game, fires out a hammer than spins out in a circle from the Paladin as it does magical damage to your opponents while ignoring magic resistance.

If you are looking for a fun skill in the Combat tree, look no further than Conversion. This talent will give you a chance to convert enemy monsters to fight along your Paladin’s side for sixteen seconds.

Offensive Auras
This skill tree will allow your Paladin to invoke auras that help increase his speed when attacking his opponents or decreasing the statistics of your opponents.

While you can stick with the Might Aura, which increases damage of melee attacks, or Blessed Aim, which increases the attack rating, the most sought after aura in this tree is Fanaticism which increase the attack damage, speed, and rating for your Paladin while only increasing the attack damage for the surrounding players.

Another option for auras in this skill tree focus on elemental damage. While fire and cold damage seem nice, a Paladin with Holy shock can lay out significant amountsof damage. The last aura that Paladins give heavy consideration to is Conviction. This aura reduces your enemies’ defense and elemental resists, which in turns allow you to dish out more damage to them.

Defensive Auras
This last skill tree offers your Paladin and members of their party additional protection from their enemies. If you decide to go with the Prayer aura, your Paladin and party members will be able to regenerate their health at a cost of Mana will Meditation will help increase the regeneration of Mana to the Paladin and party members.
Maybe you want to increase the defensive statistics of your Paladin. You should consider Defiance, which increase the defense rating of the group, or Salvation, which increase your Paladin and the party members elemental resistance. Both of these skills can be quite useful if you plan them out.

While there are several passive elemental resists left, the most intriguing one left is Redemption. This skill redeems the dead corpses of monsters and gives back health and mana to the Paladin. Since this could be a drastically overpowered skill, this aura only affects the Paladin and no one else.

As you can see, there are a variety of ways you can spend your skill points to make your Paladin more effect in Diablo 2. Take your time and practice to see which skill tree best fits your playing style.

Diablo 2 Druid

When Blizzard released the Druid character class in the expansion for Diablo 2, they broke the mold on the standard class types. The creation of the Druid character gave gamers a chance to mold their character in a variety of ways. Gone was the limitation of a specific style of play strictly determined by your choice of class.

Now you had the chance to play a Druid who could use spells and pets to the damage for them or they could rely upon their own ability to dish out physical damage thanks to their shape shifting changes.

As you create your first Druid character for Diablo 2, you will see that their attribute points are spread out with Dexterity and Energy receiving 20 points each and Strength receiving 15 points. This is important to know because the way you choose to spend future attribute points will determine your playstyle.

Elemental Tree
If your Druid decides to take the Elemental Tree route, the main focus of your attacks will derive from spells that offer Fire or Wind damage. It is important to remember that your spells do not offer the same punch as those a Sorceress may use so you will need to make sure to conserve your mana and be judicious when and how you are casting them.

As a result, you will have to be more of an active playing style, keeping their eye on the mana pool and the health of their enemies. It is important to keep your options open when you are playing an Elemental Druid.

One unique thing about the Elemental tree is the level 30 skill, Armageddon. This devastating spell is the only one for all characters you will come across where you need to have a point in every single skill listed in the tree.

Shape Shifting Tree
This Shape Shifting tree is what makes the Druid class different from all other characters classes in Diablo 2. Depending on which direction you take in this tree, your Druid will have the chance to either turn into a wolf or a bear. When they shift into an animal form, the Druid will be able to use the related skills to help boost their physical attacks.

It is important to remember, when your Druid is in their animal form, they are unable to cast any Elemental spells. The one thing you are capable of is summoning a specific pet at your side; so if you are in your Wolf form then you can summon wolves to aid you.

If you focus on this talent tree, you will want to make sure you bulk up on stamina and dexterity to help with your physical style of play.

Summoning Tree
If you make the decision to direct your Druid down this talent tree, their strength will come from using the pets to aid you in the battle. Though they maybe similar to a Necromancer, the Druid does not use a corpse to summon their pet, rather they spend mana to bring forth the wild animals.
To be successful in this talent tree means you will need to learn the nature of the pets you call forth and how they can aid you in battle. Sometime you will need heavy damage dealers to help you, other time a vine can give back health to your Druid.

Some may say the one drawback of the Summoning tree for a Druid is that they are only able to summon forth one type of animal. In reality this helps you keep focus on the opponent rather than trying to mana several different pets at once.

No matter which Talent Tree you choose for your Druid in Diablo 2, you will come to find that each one can help you fulfill your quests and find success at the end of your journey.
