World of Warcraft: Guide to Brewfest

September 3rd 2010 03:14

Since the start of world events in World of Warcraft, one of the more popular ones has always been Brewfest. This event that takes places in the fall is all about the good brew and filling food. Here is a basic guide to Brewfest to help make sure you do not miss out on the finer points of this World of Warcraft event.

The Brewfest resembles a modern day Octoberfest where participants are encouraged to drink and eat well beyond their normal standards. In order to help your character follow this tradition, there are several vending stalls setup at the Brewfest locations, outside the walls at Ironforge and Orgrimmar.

Each area will have three brew vending stalls that will several brews for the various character levels. Two of the stalls will sell specific faction brews while the third stall will offer ogre brews.

Just like any good brew, these festival brews will be alcoholic and provide either a well fed buff or refresh your character’s mana pool. The brews are not expensive and there are some wild creations available for the various levels of characters who visit. Just a little warning, do not try to stock up because some of the Brewfest brews disappear when the event is done. As an added bonus, you will receive the Achievement, Strange Brew, if you sample each of the Brewfest brews.

In case you were feeling a bit full on the brews, your character can sample yummy food samples from the other three vendor stall. You can find a wide array of bread, cheese, and sausages to sample for a few coins. Just like with the brews, when you sample all the vendors have to offer, your character will earn the Brewfest Diet Achievement.

Beyond the samplings your character will partake in during the Brewfest, there are several quests they can complete once they located the Brewfest location.

Each day during the Brewfest, at 6:15am and 6:15pm, server time, the respective faction Brewfest representative will Tap the Keg at the center. If your character happens to be there, they will receive a Brewfest Exhaustion Buff, which is a 10% bonus to experience earned from killing monsters.

Your character has the chance to earn a Brewfest Stein when they complete the Souvenir Quest chain. Not only does this Brewfest Stein allow you to drink a few of the brew selections for free, but it does allow your character to select a brew beyond their level. There is one drawback, after you drink it, your character will immediately vomit.

Aside from the brew stein, your character can earn Brewfest tokens to help them purchase special items, like Brewfest clothing. Several of the quests your character can complete for Brewfest tokens involve a racing ram mount.

If you want success with the Racing Ram, there are a few things you need to remember. The rams have five speeds that can be changed by using the reins to encourage the ram to speed up. After a few clicks on the reins, your ram will pick up speed and advance to the next level. If you do not click on the reins, your Ram will begin to slowdown.

When you reach Canter or Gallop speed with your ram, you will receive a debuff, Ram Fatigue. You will need to keep a close eye because this debuff stacks and once it reaches 100, your ram will be exhausted and slow down to a walking pace for 15 seconds.

Lastly, there are two special mounts your characters can acquire from the Brewfest event. You can earn the Great Brewfest Kodo or the Swift Brewfest Ram. In order to obtain these special mounts, your character will need to venture into Blackrock Depths and defeat Coren Direbrew, who is summoned similar to the Headless Horseman.

The last thing to leave you with about the Brewfest for World of Warcraft is to make sure you have adequate space for everything you will be picking up. The last thing you want is to lose out on the Brewfest tokens because you have some grey items in your bag waiting to be sold for a few coins.

In the online game, World of Warcraft, the Druid class has three distinct paths that they can be used to reach level 80. But which one is better for leveling your Druid?

The Balance talent tree offers your Druid the chance to sling spells with the best of them but it can produce some down time if you do not manage your mana efficiently. The Restoration talent tree suffers from the same slow pace as other Healer classes, though the advent of the dungeon finder system has helped with this some.

Ultimately, the Feral talent tree, specifically your Cat form, offers enough abilities to help make sure your can tear through your opponents with little to no downtime. These are the several things you need to look at when are leveling your Druid in World of Warcraft.

Strategy

After you begin your life as a Druid, you will learn that playing through the first 20 levels of your Druid can be time consuming and slow. You will have two methods of taking down your opponents either through casting or in Bear form once you receive it at level 10.

The pace picks up the moment you reach level 20 and can shape shift into your Cat form. Now not only will you be able to stealth in and around enemies, you will be take away their health a lot quicker.

The ideal Feral talent build will end up a 0 / 51/ 0 / build by the team you reach level 60. These are a couple of the crucial talents to make the process easier.

The first can’t miss talent for your Druid is Savage Roar. This will increase the damage to your Claw and Maul by 20%. Another talent primed to help increase the DPS of your Druid is Predatory Strikes.

Don’t forget to select Feral Switness the moment it becomes available to you on the talent tree. This will increase your Druid’s running speed in Cat form, which means less downtime as you move from one opponent to the next.

The key to developing your Druid Feral build it to maximize your DPS while needing the least amount of time to recovery. To find examples of complete Feral Druid builds, visit WoW Popular web site and filtering out the Druid Feral builds.

Gear Selection

Though you will be changing gear on a consistent basis as you level your Druid, there are certain statistics you need to focus on to help make sure you are obtaining the optimal DPS. These are the statistics ranked from most important to least for your Feral Druid.

Agility – Strength – Expertise Rating – Crit Rating - Hit Rating = Haste Rating – Attack Power - Stamina

Don’t forget that you can boost up your equipment and weapons with enchantments. While this is not recommended on lower level gear that you may out grow, it is fine to place them on unique pieces.

It is also advisable to maintain a set of gear for healing. Though you are not spec to heal as you level, you will find a properly geared Druid can still provide decent healing to a well run five-man party. Make sure you keep an eye out for cloth pieces in addition to leather for your healing gear.

Weapon Selection

The first choice of weapons for your Feral Druid should either be a two-handed mace, polearm, or staff. Prior to entering Outlands, you will want to find one of these weapons with the following suffixes; of the Tiger, of Strength, or of the Bear.

Glyph Selection

As you proceed through the leveling process, there are a couple of glyphs that can be of use to your Druid. The first one is Glyph of Claw, which reduces the energy cost of your Claw attack. Since Claw will be your primary attack until you reach 50, this will give you an extra attack every fourth time. Eventually you will replace this one with the Glyph of Mangle.

The second Glyph you could use is Glyph of Rake, which will keep your opponents from fleeing. This can be quite useful when you have additional attackers.

Profession Selection

If you do not have a profession picked out for your Druid, you should consider selecting two Gathering careers. This way you can build up your finances while you move forward towards the cap level. A solid combination to achieve this would be Herbalism and Skinning.
